Today, that’s finally starting to change. With the u pdate to visionOS 2.2, Apple is seriously upgrading the headset’s ability to work with a Mac. It’s probably the closest thing the Vision Pro has to a killer app.

Apple has publicly released visionOS 2.2 for the Apple Vision Pro, bringing small but significant changes including support for a wider Mac display.

With support for wide and ultrawide formats, however, the feature can now actually add significant new screen real estate compared to the built-in display on your Macbook or standard monitor hooked up to a desktop Mac. As Apple says, it’s like working on two 5K monitors side by side.
