Alec Regula, who’d been on injured reserve with a knee injury, was claimed off of waivers on Wednesday. The Bruins needed Regula to pass through waivers to sending him to Providence. But instead of the AHL, he’s headed to Western Canada where he could face the Bruins next week.

After 14 seasons in the NHL ranks, Kevin Shattenkirk is hanging up his skates. Shattenkirk announced his retirement via social media on Tuesday evening, with the playmaking defenseman’s final stop in the pro ranks coming with the Bruins during the 2023-24 season.
