Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has defended Allu Arjun after a stampede on December 4 killed a woman at the screening of latter's movie Pushpa 2: The Rule. In a length X post on Monday, he also criticised Telangana government's ban on benefit shows at theatres in wake of the incident.

The Rule. The film has shattered all previous box-office records and it will emerge as the biggest hit of all time it seems. The actor has now become of the biggest movie stars in the country and people cannot wait for his next film already.

For those unversed, Allu Arjun decided to attend the screening of the film and his fans went berserk to see him. As hundreds of fans rushed to catch a glimpse of Allu Arjun, the main gate of the theatre collapsed. Local cops resorted to mild lathicharge to disperse the crowd.
