Rutgers football is headed back to the desert. Nineteen years after snapping a 27-year bowl drought at the Insight Bowl in Arizona, the Scarlet Knights (7-5, 4-5) return for another postseason matchup in what is now known as the Rate Bowl.

Rutgers and Kansas State have played just once previously, and that also came in a bowl game: The Texas Bowl back in 2006, which the Scarlet Knights won to cap off an 11-2 season, the best in program history. Whether Rutgers can beat the 8-4 Wildcats this time around remains to be seen. Kansas State is a seven-point favorite.
