The Swansea man convicted of taking part in mob violence at the U.S. Capitol riots could face no penalty if President-elect Donald Trump pardons him.

President-elect Donald Trump has said he will look at pardons for those involved in the 2021 US Capitol riot on his first day back in office next month. "These people are living in hell," he told NBC's Meet the Press in his first broadcast network interview since winning November's election.

Trump said on many occasions he would pardon the rioters, without offering specifics. In 2023, he said he was "inclined to pardon many of them," though not all. He added he likely would not pardon a few who "got out of control.
