Adani, whose founder has been accused by US authorities of being involved in a bribery scheme in India, charges which he has denied, halved supply to Bangladesh on October 31 over payment delays as the country battles a foreign exchange shortage.

Adani Power said on Monday it has no indication that the Bangladesh government is reviewing a power purchase agreement with the company, a day after Reuters reported that the country is looking to renegotiate the deal.

Bangladesh has halved its power imports from Adani Power due to reduced winter demand and disputes over $650 million in unpaid dues. Adani had already reduced supply after delayed payments, escalating the outstanding dues to $900 million.

Bangladesh wants to renegotiate its power purchase deal with Adani Group if the agreement isn’t canceled by a court, Reuters reported, citing the head of its power ministry.

Adani Power shares were trading at Rs 551.25, down 0.6 per cent. The scrip had fallen to a low of Rs 543.25 earlier today.
