Police say a suspect is down following an officer-involved shooting in a west Phoenix neighborhood late Thursday night.

A suspect who allegedly pulled out a gun was shot and killed by Phoenix Police officers late Thursday night near 79th Avenue and Mitchell Drive. The suspect was not identified.

According to Phoenix police, a fight arose between two roommates and ended in a gunshot. When officers arrived, they found two men, one injured. He was taken to a nearby hospital but did not survive. The other was taken in for questioning by the police, but released "pending ongoing investigation."
