A former Sangamon County Sheriff’s Deputy charged with the murder of Sonya Massey will spend more time in jail. Judges in the Fourth District Appellate Court put a 35-day pause on the release order for Sean Grayson to give Sangamon County time to appeal to the Illinois Supreme Court.

The hearing set a timeline for restrictions to be set for Grayson's pre-trial release. Grayson is facing charges for shooting and killing Sonya Massey in her home in July. On Wednesday the court found the state did not provide enough evidence to keep Grayson in jail until his trial.
