The stock market isn’t the only thing enjoying new records - so is the box office. This Thanksgiving weekend was the biggest ever for Hollywood in terms of domestic ticket sales

Movie theaters finally have something for which to be thankful. Disney’s “Moana 2” cemented Thanksgiving box office records with $221 million over the five-day holiday frame, obliterating the previous high-water marks set by 2019's "Frozen II" ($125 million) and 2013's “Hunger Games: Catching Fire” ($109 million).

The pair of films did huge business as Thanksgiving gets underway in the United States. Globally, the movies have earned $162.5 million and $220.5 million, respectively.
