SunFed Produce has issued a voluntary recall for cucumbers distributed across 26 U.S. states and parts of Canada, the Food and Drug Administration said Friday. The action was taken due to concerns that the cucumbers may be contaminated with salmonella,

In a filing posted by the Food and Drug Administration on Thursday, SunFed said the recalled cucumbers were sold between Oct. 12 and Nov. 26 and are being pulled from store shelves over possible contamination by the bacteria. Salmonella can cause fatal infections in young children, elderly people or other individuals with weakened immune systems.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said that if President-elect Donald Trump follows through on this threat to impose tariffs on Canadian products, he would be raising prices and hurting American businesses.

The president-elect said that he would impose the across-the-board tariffs on Day 1 and that they would stay in place until Canada, Mexico and China halted the flow of drugs and migrants.
