The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a winter storm watch for parts of upstate New York, effective from Wednesday afternoon through Friday afternoon. Areas Affected: Erie, Genesee, Wyoming, Chautauqua, and Cattaraugus counties, including cities like Buffalo, Batavia, Jamestown, and Olean.

The warnings cover Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Erie and Wyoming counties - where up to 3 feet of lake effect snow is expected in the most persistent bands, and Genesee County, where 10 to 20 inches is expected in the same timeframe. Jefferson, Lewis and Owego counties are also predicted to see up to 3 feet of lake effect snow
