Samyukt Kisan Morcha condemns Uttar Pradesh government for arresting farmers at Dalit Prerana Sthal, demanding justice and rights.

Noida: Police on Tuesday arrested more than 160 protesting farmers, including the president of Bharatiya Kisan Parishad Sukhbir Khalifa, who were holding a sit-in at the ‘Dalit Prerna Sthal’ here after their march to Delhi on land compensation and other demands was stopped a day earlier.

Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) criticizes the central government over the Adani issue and plans a protest backing the opposition's demand for a Joint Parliamentary Committee probe. SKM also plans protests in Uttar Pradesh on December 4 against the proposed privatisation of the electricity sector.

Condemning the police action, the Samyukt Kisan Morcha said it was a violation of their constitutional rights to peacefully protest and urged the judiciary to intervene
