Fortnite has declared war on Counter Strike and VALORANT. Epic's game, which shone for its Battle Royale, will now also have a five-on-five format, which will rival the top compute

Epic Games seem intent on making Fortnite the game to end all games, catering to every possible mood and playstyle. But with the launch of Ballistic, a 5v5 mode heavily inspired by Valorant and CS:GO, they’ve pushed things too far.

The beginning of December marked the start of the game’s Chapter 6, Season 1 ‘Demon Hunters’ release. Then, this Friday, the permanent “OG Fortnite” mode launched, inviting players back to the original island and earliest seasons of the game to relive the wonder years.

"In Ballistic, players are sorted into two teams at the start of the match: attackers and defenders. Attackers aim to plant a reality-tearing Rift Point Device at one of two sites on the map, while defenders do their best to thwart the device from being planted and detonated.

Epic Games is about to let Fortnite creators publish experiences with first-person modes, and to help show what’s possible, Epic itself is introducing a tactical FPS shooter that seems like it will play a lot like Counter-Strike or Valorant.

The round-based, 5v5 competitive game mode looks a lot like Valorant and Counter-Strike, though with a slightly more family friendly tone.
