A proposal that would have allowed data centers be built in Adair Park and Historic West End neighborhoods was dropped at the Atlanta City Council’s Dec. 2 meeting following community pushback and the mayor’s opposition.

Data centers remain banned in Adair Park and West End, after a councilmember walked back legislation that would have allowed them to be built in the Westside neighborhoods.

The Atlanta City Council unanimously passed a measure on Monday that will give millions of dollars to revitalize the streets on the Westside while also essentially tossing out a proposal on an exception to a data center ban.
