The Pakistan Cricket Board could face revenue losses, lawsuits and also risk international alienation if it decides to withdraw from the ICC Champions Trophy over a deadlock on the mode of organising the 50-over event scheduled in February-March next year.

The impasse over the Champions Trophy continues to stay as there is still no confirmation about the hosting of the tournament. Pakistan are the official hosts while India are not travelling there due to security issues and want to play their set to matches at the other venue.

The administrator warned if Pakistan pulls out of the Champions Trophy, it could face possible lawsuits from the global cricket body. He added broadcasters could also sue as such a move would affect their estimated revenues. "PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has to come clean on the whole issue," he said, stressing MPAs are identical across countries.

A senior cricket administrator who is well versed with the organisation of ICC events told PTI on Wednesday that it would not be an easy decision for the PCB to not play in the Champions Trophy if their Hybrid Model formula is not accepted in its entirety by the ICC and Board of Control for Cricket in India.
